Claus out for Santa in Sydney
Just a thought on this story, about how Sydney Santas are being counselled to eschew the traditional "Ho, ho, ho!" on the grounds that it's offensive to women:
If Kevin Rudd gets in, you can be damn sure that there there will be an increasing number of stories like this. The Labor Party is the offical party of PC in Oz, a seething swamp of sanctimony crawling with gimlet-eyed pinheads who really get off on making such idiotic demands. In fact, it's their whole reason for living. (Sure, there are a few Libs like this, but they are very thin on the ground.)
Okay, this isn't the end of the world. But it is a tad depressing. (It's also extremely ironic, since the word in question, "ho", was used by Labor's former leader, Mark Latham, in an intentionally hateful way. And at the time, all those professional nags who spend their every waking hour decrying what they perceive to be sexism never raised so much as a squawk.)
Hope the voters keep their thinking caps on on election day for this and many other reasons.
