A fairly run of the mill statement by Joe Hockey has gained inordinate media attention and been milked for all it's worth by Kevin Rudd.
What's wrong with running a fear campaign? That's what politics is all about. (Not entirely, of course. There's some hope in there too ... hopefully.)
At least Hockey is honest. He says it's a fear campaign, and it's based on the truth.
If the Libs are running "the mother of all fear campaigns" then Labor's running the grand-daddy! They're seriously arguing that only they can save Oz from the ravages of climate change. That's fear-mongering in the extreme -- as well as being based on highly debatable information prognostication.
And if Kevin Rudd's so anti-fear, then why did he make a point of dumping Joe McDonald? If he had any spine, he would have let the ol' sack o' lard stay in his party.
He just confirmed the validity of the Liberal "fear campaign" (as well as his own gutlessness) by doing what he did.
What an opportunistic weasel.
